An extraordinary marketer

by Terry Dunn on October 24, 2009

If you watch Perry Marshall’s video on creating demand where none existed before, I have to agree with him. And I also know a little about Rich Schefren as I am on his email list. He is indeed a unique and extraordinary marketer. Not only does his products deserve attention but how he creates them too. We can all learn a lot from clever Internet marketers. And his latest project is called the league of extraordinary minds. A brilliant idea.

I have watched his strategy in action. He gives away something of excellent value; usually a facinating report in return for your email address. Well, that isn’t so unusual, as other marketers do that. He then builds a relationship with you, often with quite personal blog posts and interesting email updates, over time. Finally, he sells you a coaching, consulting or mentoring program that is always unique. And this approach works because he coaches many of the top firms and his consulting fees are big. I can’t afford them anyway.

Rich is a clever marketer and I think his methods are worth studying. His business is called strategic profits and his Internet marketing blog is both popular and very readable. His sharp business mind notices wisdom I would never see. I can liken him to Seth Godin in this regard. Seth is also a clever marketer and owner of squidoo. Much of Rich’s reports and content are free. I have read his internet business manifesto, the missing chapter and the final chapter trilogy. I can recommend them.

I am always intrigued to know why some marketers strategies are so successful.
