The fastest browser yet

Time is money. It’s a cliche but it is true. And for anyone who spends time using the internet, a slow browser can be painful. This is why I use google chrome. It’s fast. Much faster than Internet Explorer and faster than firefox. But now we have a new winner in the browser speed race. Opera version 10.5 has just been released and it has glowing reviews.

In today’s video Duncan has tested all the major browsers; Internet Explorer V8, Chrome V4, Firefox V3.6, Apple Safari V4 and Opera V10.5 and is impressed with Opera. He shows you how Opera even beats google chrome, which was widely regarded as a breakthrough when it was released, and reckons the newest version of Opera is the fastest browser to date.

As you watch the review, notice how Internet Explorer is last and just how slow it is by comparison with all the other browsers. This is no surprise to me. I have IE, firefox and chrome on my PC, and IE is painfully slow. So his test results are a true reflection of my reality. Google chrome is my browser of choice as it’s fast, simple and uncluttered.

Opera 10.5 is serious competition to chrome, but will it knock chrome off it’s perch as the fastest growing browser? Can a small Norwegian company beat google with it’s marketing dominance? Probably not. Craig Buckler from sitepoint thinks Opera 10.5 may be the best browser ever with superior speed, a sleek, uncluttered look yet it’s fully configurable. But it’s not his default browser. I guess the choice is not just about speed.

It’s unanimous; Opera 10.5 is the fastest browser yet.
