If you are a webmaster, google wants to talk to you, which is amazing for a large corporation. But then google is a progressive and perhaps even ground-breaking organisation. Always pushing the boundaries. They have launched the message centre where they communicate directly with individual website owners through their webmaster account page. Let us communicate with you about your site is in pilot stage, but if it works, it will be rolled out to everyone.
And if you have watched any of the videos on google’s webmaster central channel you will know they are excellent. And of course they are free. Google webmaster help is the official youtube channel for webmasters and is billed as a one-stop shop for webmaster resources, to help with your indexing and crawling, and introduce you to ways to increase traffic and connect with your visitors. They are building a valuable community, which benefits everyone.
Now google wants us to provide them with some of our video tips and techniques on a variety of webmaster topics. If you watch the featured video, Michael tells you what google are looking for. They want to know how you use webmaster tools and to share your knowledge with the community in the form of a how-to or instructional video. For example, your video could be about SEO, linking or maybe CMS tips and techniques that you use.
Google will show your videos on their blog or embed them into their help centre articles. They want short videos. The quality doesn’t have to be great. You don’t need to be Steven Speilberg, as long as we can hear it and watch it. Google have compiled some tips on how to submit your videos to encourage you to participate.
Now we can all contribute to the growing community of google webmasters.
