The RSS feed has been around for quite some time now, but it’s amazing how few people really understand how to use RSS to gain a huge advantage over competitors, customers, visitors or colleagues. Infact, it’s so simple, almost everyone overlooks this great webmaster tool. So, how can you gain an advantage by using it?
It’s the new faster way to read the web.
- Research your business competitors websites and blogs
- Keep up-to-date with the latest news in your niche or subject
- Learn from all the top experts to gain expertise
- Master a topic with a daily reading routine from the best blogs
With over 50 million blogs and thousands of news sites, searching for information and keeping up with what’s happening can be time consuming. It can be hard work. But instead of you doing the searching, RSS gets the information to come to you. All you need do is find the best websites, blogs and news sites, then subscribe to their RSS feeds. Today’s video is RSS in plain english and Leele fever shows you just how easy it can be.
Start by finding a home site for your feeds, or feed reader. Google reader is the one I use and recommend. Once subscribed, feeds are displayed in the left-hand column. You click on each feed to show you the latest post from each blog, news or website. But you can also use bloglines, newsgator or other readers. It’s your choice. Then, when you find a great site, click on the orange button to subscribe. The latest post, including all the old ones, are delivered in real-time.
To gain an edge, all you then need is a daily reading schedule.
