Most of us are familiar with powerpoint as a very capable presentation software tool, but what if you want to create a slide show for your products, or any other aspect of your business, and share it on your website, blog and across the web. Well you can. Slideshare is a business media site for sharing presentations, documents and PDFs.

It takes your powerpoint slide show, word of PDF document and creates a slideshow that can be shared on the web. But slideshare is more than just a slide show hosting website. It’s also a community with 25 million visitors a month who will watch, comment-on and download the slide shows hosted on the site. Your presentation is publicly available and ready to be shared with and seen by millions of visitors.

Slideshare is free. You will need to register and then you can create a slideshow around your product or service and generate leads. Once created, your presentation can be embedded into your blog or website and into your linkedin profile too. With over 65 million linkedin members, this is great exposure to your products, services or message. You can also join groups to connect with slideshare members who share your interests.

You can synchronise audio to your slideshow to create a slidecast. You will need to create an MP3 audio track, which is easy with audacity. Audacity is an open source audio recording and editing tool. Slideshare have also added video. Now you may think what’s the advantage when we have youtube? With youtube your video can get lost in a sea of silly pranks and laughing baby videos. Slideshare videos are for business, so you have the right audience.
