The ultimate web design resource

by Terry Dunn on January 4, 2010

I’ve stumbled upon, possibly the biggest list of web design resources I have ever seen. It’s massive. Sitepoint call it a beginners guide to anything and everything. It includes PHP, Perl, C, Java, CSS, Javascript and DHTML, XML, XHTML, .net, visual basic, usability and accessibility, free stock photography, flash, photoshop, fireworks, illustrator, 3D studio max, maya, drawing and sketching. Phew! And sitepoint forum members have even added a few more.

You might need to sign up with sitepoint to access this forum post, but it’s worthwhile. As well as forums, sitepoint is perhaps the ultimate web designers resource. It’s got almost everything a professional web designer or developer needs. And it’s very popular. With 359,000 forum members, 860,000 newsletter subscribers, it’s the 986th most visited website on the internet. Today’s video is a quick introduction to sitepoint.

Should you pay a visit, you’ll find many, professionally written blogs from industry trends, business, web design, podcasts and much more. There are many newsletters too, delivered by email, if you prefer this medium. It has video tutorials, some of which are free, classified adverts, very active forums, an excellent reference section plus books and courses. I particularly like the books and courses. I have bought several books and the web design business kit, which is a course. This kit is written by Brendon Sinclair, a web designer, and is excellent. I highly recommend it.

I think these resources will keep you busy for a long time.
