These days it seems twitter is the place to be seen. I’m not talking about celebrities, but entrepreneurs. Far more interesting people to follow (in my opinion anyway). Entrepreneurs are smart people; game changers, astute, leaders and innovators. They are the kind of people I want to learn about and follow.
Benn Parr from mashable has found 10 essential entrepreneurs to follow on twitter. If you don’t have an account on twitter, it’s child’s play to open one. Then all you have to do is use people search to find and follow anyone. Watch twitter in plain english, which is today’s featured video.
Benn has an intriguing list. Caterina Fake is a co-founder of Flickr and Hunch. I’m sure you know about Flickr, the photo sharing site, but I’d never heard of hunch. It’s all about helping you make decisions based on group-think or wisdom of the crowd.
Guy Kawasaki is a great choice. An early Apple employee, venture capitalist, best-selling author and founder of alltop, Guy has a passion for business and writes a blog that’s worth reading. Jason Fried is another entrepreneur with vision. He is the cofounder and CEO of 37signals. 37signals is a hugely popular software development company. Their software applications are all web-based and unique with over 3 million users. They are breaking new ground in the industry.
The Internet is such a hotbed of innovation and with it’s ease of entry, it’s even spawning teenage entrepreneurs. There are a few that I have come across recently and Benn features Mark Bao, the founder of ramamia, a photo, message, event and video-sharing social website. I don’t only wonder how they have time to start a business inbetween school or college, but how they have the wisdom to make the kind of decisions a business owner must make.
There are also a few other people I consider to be entrepreneurs too. Michael Campbell is the owner of Dynamic Media Corporation, runs the Internet marketing secrets newsletter and has been involved with Internet startups. I always read his marketing wisdom. And Yaro starak is a prolific blogger, teacher and runs a number of successful websites. His entrepreneurs journey blog has 84,000 RSS subscribers.
Will you be following somebody influential on twitter?
