Crush it with Gary Vaynerchuk

by Terry Dunn on February 15, 2010

Gary Vaynerchuk is a huge success by any measure you care to use. He started off working in the family business, which was a wine store in New Jersey. From the age of 16 to 22 he helped build the business into a 40,000 sq ft store and an online presence in 1997. The business became one of the largest independent wine retailers in America employing 100 people with annual sales of over $10m. But there was something missing. By the age of 30 he felt he had more to give.

Gary realised online video was a great opportunity for him. He had something to share that people would enjoy; his love of wine. So, in February 2006 he started wine library TV, creating a 20 minute wine show 5 days a week. He felt producing quality content would work. And boy, did it work! He worked hard, producing videos and promoting them with myspace, facebook and in time, twitter. The popularity of his show soared until he hit 10,000 views a day, then publicity exploded with media attention and interviews. Now he is celebrity in his own right.

In today’s video he is interviewed by BeetTV and talks about his journey to success. And what success! We can all learn so much from Gary and now we have the opportunity with the release of his new book. Why now is the time to crush it: cash in on your passion is Gary’s new book about finding your passion and profiting from it online. Read Daniel Scocco’s book review:crush it to discover more. It’s not often we get the chance to get inside the mind of an entrepreneur.
