Joe Eitel has written a 4-part series on proven link building strategies that work. Links back to your websites are probably (I say probably because nobody knows or is telling how google’s algorithm works) the most important tecnique to getting your pages ranked in the search engines. So, a link building strategy is particulary important to getting free traffic. I personally think creating great content is the best strategy. See what you think.

The trouble is, SEO is such a complicated topic with so many differing views. How do you see the wood for the trees. And that is what Dr Pete thinks is the problem for most websites. So, he has some good tips to help you see the bigger picture.
But in the end, a ‘connected’ combination of methods will yield the best results. Each method you use should compound so the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Perry Marshall thinks there is much confusion and we need to simplify. I know he’s talking about marketing here but it applies equally to SEO. He says you should narrow your focus to a few vital elements that reliably put cash in your pocket, or get visitors to your website.
Focus your SEO efforts to connect together and compound each other.
