Podcasts for web designers

Boagworld is one of those websites that seems to have been around for ever, or at least as long as I can remember. It’s popular and the reason is it’s a terrific resource for web designers and webmasters. Paul Boag, who runs the site, is a website designer and creative director of headscape, a UK-based web design agency. Boagworld is famous for their regular interview podcasts with a variety of web professionals.

I enjoy listening to his podcasts and always learn lots from his guests. The latest podcast is an interview with Chris Lea with the title my hosting company sucks. Chris Lea works for Media temple, which is one of the better hosting companies with a strong reputation for service with a focus on the web design industry. The interview is 28 minutes long, but worth a listen. Infact, most of Paul’s interviews are about 30 minutes or longer, but nevertheless they are very popular.

Another recent interview was with shopify and asks the question do you need a content strategy. I think every webmaster and website owner should have a content strategy, but not everyone agrees with me. Paul’s interviews are accompanied by a transcript, often with photographs or diagrams; whatever is appropriate. Boagworld also has a busy forum. As Paul says; boagworld is not just a web design podcast, it’s also a thriving online community.

So, if you want to sharpen your web design knowledge, take a look at boagworld and listen to a podcast or two.
