If you own a business how do you attract customers? Did you know up to 82% of people use google to search for local businesses and suppliers? You might even have done this yourself when searching for a supplier. Google will often show you a map and a selection of business listings with little pins showing you where they are on the map. Do you know how they got there? You put them there by add your business listing. And if you haven’t done this, you should do it now.
It’s easy. Go to google places, and watch the video. You can sign up for free then take control of your business listing by customising it to appear just the way you want. You can add an address and phone number on google maps, add photographs, opening hours and how customers can pay you.
You can even add coupons your customer can print out and bring with them. I’ve noticed many restaurant chains offering coupons like this with discounts to fill off-peak hours. It works. We use these coupons often. Everyone likes a bargain. You also get a dashboard and analytics.
These are based on the excellent google analytics used by webmasters. They give you important information such as who is searching for you and how they are finding you. This is valuable intelligence you can use to your advantage. And after getting some feedback, you can adjust your listing to get better results or persuade more people to visit.
If you want to make your business findable, make sure your business is listed on google places.
