Have you got the buzz?

If you use google mail, you’ve probably got the buzz by now – the google buzz that is. I use gmail as my primary email and last week a colourful little speech bubble icon appeared with a welcome message and short explanation. But I have to admit I didn’t really understand how to use it or what it was going to do for me. But now I do.

Today’s video is a short introduction to google buzz for everyone who wants to know what it is and how you use it. It’s built into gmail so connects with people you already know. With buzz you automatically follow the people you email and chat with the most. It gives you the choice to share with the world or a select group. It’s like social networking on gmail. And there’s no doubt that it’s taken off very fast. According to google, buzz has seen over 9 million posts in 56 hours!

David Risley asks does it matter? Is everyone just curious about it? Why do we need more social networking? Is it really any different from friendfeed or facebook? I think we will all decide in the weeks and months ahead. Because we use email every day, and gmail is so popular and easy to use, it could fit right into our daily routine without much effort. And I think it could be useful for business too. You can now find good reasons to keep in-touch with customers and prospects. Send them a great video, share some photos, talk about their business or share something you know can help them.

Use it right and you could create a buzz around your business.
