A CMS or Content Management System lets non-technical users update their website without learning any HTML or programming. You may be a writer or expert on the website topic but don’t want to do battle with the code.
There are many commercially availabe CMS products but they are often expensive. Probably the most well-known CMS or personal publishing system, as it’s often known by, is a blog. And blog software is usually free too.
Interactive tools have created an interesting new product called CMS Builder, which allows you to build your own customised CMS. With some simple editing work you can install a custom system for managing the addition of content for the whole website.
The CMS Builder costs $200. Not a bad price for CMS software. And I recommend you watch the video, which shows you how to use it. Even if you’re not in the market for a CMS package, it will show you how CMS is used.
So, a CMS will save you time and costly IT support when you want to add new content to your site. And that’s something you do all of the time…isn’t it?
