Creating killer websites

December 8th, 2007 · No Comments

Here is an excellent resource I can recommend to help you design and build your own killer website. Killersites is the home of a network of 5 websites, published by Stefan Mischook. And their collective purpose is to make learning web design easy.

The home site sells video tutorials. There is ‘beginners web design’ split into 5 video sections, ‘beginners dreamweaver 7 & 8′ in 19 sections, ‘beginners flash 7 & 8′ and ‘beginners action script 2.0′. Free sample videos are available for you to check them out before you buy, but the prices are reasonable anyway, $20 for downloads and $30 for CD ROMs.

The first site, with the simple domain name of how to build websites, is a beginners web design tutorial. Stefan says you can ‘learn web design easily’ with 8 modules or lessons. The lessons provide a simple introduction to getting started.

The next site, secret sites, is a collection of web design tips and tricks Stefan has picked up over the last 10 years. Some examples include, ‘do’s and don’ts of webdesign’, ‘free and cheap web design software’ and a companion site to the successful print publication ’secrets of successful websites’ by david siegel.

The third site, CSS tutorial, comprises 4 beginners tutorials on the subject of Cascaded Style Sheet design and coding. CSS can be very cyptic and seemingly undecipherable, especially if you have only just mastered HTML. What are all these curly brackets for? stefan provides a simple introduction with plenty of examples.

And the forth site, web site templates, is a catalogue with more than 10,000 website templates to choose from, plus support and video tutorials to guide the buyer through the whole process from downloading to making your website live.
