Make money writing reviews

by Terry Dunn on April 19, 2010

Writing reviews are almost a bread and butter activity for anyone who needs to add content to a blog, website or online store, not just because everyone likes to read reviews, but because they are usually easy to write as well. But what if you could get paid for writing a review? You can now. Reviewme is a web service paying bloggers to write reviews. Jeremy Schoemaker says “reviewme has allowed me to generate great revenue reviewing products I find interesting”.

If you are a blogger and publishing your own blog you can submit it to reviewme for inclusion. If they approve your blog, clients will buy reviews from you. To get approval, review me will check your alexa rank, technorati rank and the number of RSS feed subscribers you have. If it’s less than 4, you probably won’t get approved. Once approved you wait until you are offered a review. You then have 48 hours to write one at least 200 words long. Average review length is about 300 words and you can be paid from $20 to $200 for each review.

If you are an advertiser, you can browse reviewme for a suitable blog, and purchase a review targetted to your niche or product. The benefit to you is lots of feedback, buzz, traffic and links to your website. It can be a website or product review and reviewme have just introduced the advertorial. If you want to see a sample review, here is AJ’s review of the Ruby on Rails book from sitepoint. Doesn’t look hard to me.

It’s like getting paid to discover something new.
